Troubleshooting

Amazon title too long or rejected

If Amazon rejects a title for length, cut filler from the end, keep the product type first, and paste a draft that fits the current marketplace cap.

Steps

  1. Copy the exact error

Note whether it is length, characters, or policy language. Guessing wastes a round trip.

  2. Keep type, brand, size

Write those three on a line. Everything else is optional until it fits.

  3. Run Title Optimizer on the shortened facts

Paste the reduced fact list. Remove duplicates it highlights. Do not add new adjectives.

  4. Paste and preview the truncated search line

If the visible part no longer names the product, move the type left, not right.

Length is not the only reject

Seller Central also blocks all caps, special-character spam, and some promotional language. Read the error, not only the character counter. Category style guides differ by marketplace.

Cut from the tail

The first words are what mobile search shows. Delete “premium unique amazing gift” before you delete size or count. Repeat tokens are free cuts.

Bytes versus characters

Some locales count bytes. A Chinese or German title can hit the cap sooner than an English draft of the same word count. Optimize in the destination language, not by translating a stuffed English line.

What CrossKit will not do

Title Optimizer does not read live Amazon caps or publish the title. You paste. Recheck the current help page when a category tightens rules.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I split overflow into bullets?

Yes. Bullets can hold extra attributes. The title stays the scan line.

Why was a short title still rejected?

Policy words, all caps, or trademark issues. Read the error code.

Does CrossKit know this week’s cap?

No. It drafts. Amazon’s current listing help is the cap source.
